This morning sunrise made the world anew;
pierced through the swollen darkness
that had held the land.
Night’s hand relinquishes its hold.
Things unfold.
The light within them shimmers.
The world grows bright,
It catches fire!
We, wakening, desire the day –
to work, to walk, to fashion,
and to love our world.
We know above our world
a brooding spirit breathes.
We are born to pierce the inmost darkness
of our own mysterious selves,
to seek that point of radiance
where self-life rises,
to set aside disguises
as the day casts off the night.
We find delight in knowing self is given –
we live as gift!
Just so!
We lift our world, ponder its beauty
with hovering thought
covering naught but with love.
Let it speak its secrets in the light of us.
For the night no longer threatens
once we release the fire inside
that will not be denied its flaming!
